Rant of an Animal Lover.

Hey guys, as you all know I am an avid animal lover. I have always wanted to be a veterinarian for a long time.
So here's the story.
A year ago, I saved a Jack Russel Terrier right in front my house.Coming to know a lot of rescue groups for the past 3 years inspired me to safe this dog from being hit by cars. Before that, I never knew about Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (check them out here) or any other NGOs that safe helpless strays.
Back to the Terrier. I managed to keep him by persuading my mom assuring her that he will be adopted on the same day. And I was right (and it was the next day actually)! Because of my situation, a kind lady decided to foster until he finds his owner. But later adopted him because no one claimed the poor guy.
Here's a picture of the little guy:

My another rescue story would be a kitten. All night I heard meowing and the next day I decided to checkout where the sound came from. I found the little kitty helpless and abandoned probably by the cats that lived in my back lane. I took poor kitty and gave her a little milk. I posted a picture of little kitty here and a petite kind girl took him in.

I also saved another kitten with a broken hind leg that was lying right in front my house. I have no idea where it came from and how it got hurt. And i received a call from another kind lady who offered to take him in and give him immediate medical attention.

I got so much joy from doing this! Because I did not get to do Veterinary Science, this makes up for it. Unfortunately there are few factors that holds me me from doing more.
1. Family support
Having a family that supports what you are passionate about is very important. I'm not saying that my parents are against my passions but not this. The first time I saved Terry, my mom was OK with it but with one condition he can't stay with us and I have to find a family right away. When it came to kitten #1 she allowed me to bring it in but some one has to adopt it on the same day. She never allows me to save all the strays on the road. Only the ones that I see in front my house. And when I found black beauty, she was a little angry because I was showing so much affection on black but I never do the same to her. I love my family. I'm not condemning or complaining, I'm just saying that you really need support when it comes to rescuing. I LOVE MY MOM!
2. Financial
When I found black and asked for help. people were insisting me to bring poor little kitty to the vet. The thing is, its not that I do not want to bring it to the vet, but I do not have enough cash to pay the bills. As I am still studying, no one can expect me to pay the bills.
3. I have a dog
I have a dog and she hates cats and dogs. She killed a rat, and I am pretty sure that she will do the same to the other animals that I safe. When I saved Terry, he had fleas and lice all over his body. And when he left, the fleas and lice decided to breed and stay on my dog. It was a little hard since my dog lives inside the house. Fleas can breed under your bed!
4. Accommodation
When Terry came in, I had to tie him on a leash because he was trying to runaway. I had no porch. Luckily, it did not rain on that day. We managed to keep him tied outside in our compound for a day. I also had to use boxes to keep the kittens that i saved and orange kept jumping out of the box.
I'm pretty sure there a lot of us who are facing the same situation. I hope those who CAN save them would understand us. Please do not judge our family and us.
I've seen people saying " Why can't you bring it to the vet?" "Why are you posting it here rather than bringing it to the vet?" "What are you doing? Help la" "Why your parents so mean?"
It's not nice to say that. I just hope that the small things that we are doing, for example, notifying others about strays that need attention will help save the unfortunate souls.
